A neighbourhood dispute in Harare’s Waterfalls suburb escalated into violence, leaving one woman seriously injured.
Mavis Mupingwa, 37, of Waterfalls, appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa at the Harare Magistrates’ Court facing attempted murder charges.
The complainant is her neighbour, Landanance Kanje.
Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi told the court that on March 12, around 12:00 p.m., in Stoneridge Park, Waterfalls, the complainant saw Mupingwa shouting at her father and asked what was happening.
Mupingwa allegedly picked up a pick and struck the complainant twice on the head before biting her on the chin.
The court heard that Kanje sustained visible injuries as a result of the attack.
