The newly appointed Zimbabwe Youth Council board is calling on all youth associations to share the challenges and achievements they have encountered in advancing youth development.
Speaking at a press briefing, ZYC Board Chairperson Rutendo Mugwagwa emphasized the council’s commitment to championing the needs of young people across the country.
“We are calling on all youth associations to visit the Zimbabwe Youth Council website or offices to update their operational status by July 25, 2025,” said Mugwagwa. “They can also access the update link via WhatsApp on +263 774 505 973, or reach out on +263 772 915 473 for further clarification.”
Mugwagwa said the update exercise is not just procedural but a strategic tool to improve how the Council supports youth development, links associations to national opportunities, and advocates for them in dialogue with ministries, development partners, and the private sector.
“To further support associations, the Council will be hosting a series of workshops aimed at unlocking new opportunities, improving capacity, and ensuring compliance. Compliance should not be viewed as a burden, but rather as a gateway to professionalism, recognition, and long-term sustainability,” she added.
Mugwagwa also called for a multi-sectoral approach in engaging youth organisations, saying this would strengthen collaboration and enhance the collective effort toward national transformation.
