BIRMINGHAM, UK – West Midlands Police have launched a major manhunt following a brutal knife attack that killed Zimbabwean care worker Lucia Kwenya and left her colleague, Charity Kaseke, fighting for her life in Birmingham late on the evening of June 3.
The tragedy unfolded between 9 PM and midnight near Small Heath as Kaseke and Kwenya walked home from work. Two unknown assailants ambushed the women, demanding their possessions before launching a vicious knife assault.
Lucia Kwenya tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Charity Kaseke sustained life-threatening wounds and remains in intensive care.
No arrests have been made. Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses and any dashcam or CCTV footage from the Small Heath area during the attack window.
