An 18-year-old man has appeared in court for allegedly stealing eight meters of copper pipes from the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre.
William Kachepa appeared before magistrate Ruth Moyo at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing a theft charge. He is set to return to court on May 2, 2025.
The complainant in the matter is SIRDIC, represented by John Gumede.
According to the State, led by prosecutor Takudzwa Jambawu, the theft was discovered on April 25 during routine perimeter checks.
After local inquiries, Kachepa was implicated, leading to a police report and his subsequent arrest.
