A 16 year old Esigodini teen may soon be facing murder charges after he joined two others in assaulting a victim who later died.
Police report that on Friday November 11, the teen from Nwazi area in Esigodini together with Lazarous Derrick Nyathi, 30, and Carlos Phiri, 20, attacked Mqondisi Ndlovu, 31, and assaulted.
Ndlovu suffered severe injuries in the attack and died five days later on Wednesday November 15 at Esigodini District Hospital where he had been hospitalised.
Murder cases are on the rise in the country with several teens implicated in murders since the beginning of the year.
Earlier this month police arrested a 16 year old female suspect over charges of stabbing a man to death after a drinking binge.

In another case this month, a 17 year old boy was arrested on allegations of kidnapping an 8 year old girl, bashing her senseless with a stone then raping her and leaving her for dead.
