NetOne, ex-CEO case postponed

The High Court has postponed a matter where mobile network operator, NetOne and its former chief executive officer (CEO) Lazarus Muchenje are locked in a legal battle over a residence that the latter is occupying.

High Court judge Justice Samuel Deme postponed the matter, in which NetOne is applying for condonation, to November 24, 2022.

NetOne dragged its former CEO to court, seeking to evict him from the Borrowdale residence, arguing that he had ceased to be its employee.

Muchenje has been living in the Borrowdale property, which he allegedly obtained through a lease agreement with Paradzai Chakona who represented the mobile operator, allegedly without the approval of the board.

Justice Deme postponed the hearing after the telecommunications firm asked for time to consult and make further submissions.
