Three in custody for US$3 000 robbery

Three men have been remanded in custody for robbing US$3 525 and till slips at Chart King Shop.

Donald Nyahuma, of Lower Gweru, Brighton Nyahuma, of Lower Gweru, and Ronald Zimba, of Epworth, appeared before magistrate Apollonia Marutya at the Harare Magistrate's Courts accused of robbery.

The State, through prosecutor Kudzai Manyadza, alleges that on August 4, 2024, the accused went to the security guard who was on night duty at Chart King Shop veranda in Warren Park D.

Two of the accused manhandled and tied his hands with a rope at the same time threatening him with a knife.

One of the accused persons cut the toilet burglar bar with a bolt cutter and entered in the shop.

After a while, it is alleged that the accused came out holding a white paper bag containing paper till slips and US$3 525 and disappeared from the premises leaving the complainant tied.

The complainant managed to untie himself and got a well- wisher who helped him with transport to Warren Park Police station where he reported the case.

Investigations which were carried out by detectives led to the arrest of the accused persons

As a result, US$3 600 was stolen.
