Harare Magistrates’ Court has remanded in custody four men who are being accused of murder.
Alois Banda (22), Brighton Mubwata (30), Whymore Tsatse (26), and Cyril Raatjas (44), stood before the court charged with murder as defined in section 47 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
Reports state that on 4 November, 2022, along Skymaster Drive, Ridgeview in Harare, the now deceased went into the yard of number 12 Heron Drive and was apprehended by one of the accuseds who was in the company of one Takudzwa Saidi, still at large. The two allegedly assaulted the now deceased with sticks several times.
The two accused poured water on the now deceased and took him along Skymaster Drive where they were joined by the other three, who also took turns to assault him using sticks, resulting in his death.
Magistrate Ruth Moyo, who presided over the case, remanded the accused in custody to November 22.
