A Harare man, Godknows Mbwende lost US$6 500 after he gave Moses Silva his car to sell in his behalf, who then kept the money himself.
The 30-year-old accused from Sandton, Westgate, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts facing theft charges.
The State alleges that in November 2023, Mbwende gave Silva his car, a Honda Fit to sell on his behalf for US$6 500 and the pair entered into a written agreement.
It is alleged that Silva sold the car and pocketed the cash.
This led to Mbwende reporting the matter on April 10, 2024.
After hearing that he was wanted, on July 2, 2024, Silva went to CID VTS Harare to enquire about the case and was subsequently arrested.
He was remanded to today July 4, 2024 for bail application.
