Ain a shocking incident that has been condemned by many, a Macheke couple has been arrested on charges of raping their own children.
The couple has since appeared before Marondera magistrate, Ignatius Mhene.
The matter came to light when the two minors were caught simulating a sexual act by their uncle, whom they had visited in Mutoko.
Upon being quizzed, they implicated their parents, leading to their arrest.
According to the State, the children’s mother allegedly found her 41-year-old husband raping their eight-year-old daughter in their bedroom but did not report the matter.
Instead, she went on to rape her 11-year-old son. One of the incidents happened last year, when she reportedly lured the child into her matrimonial bedroom.
