A police officer, who is currently stationed at Mount Darwin Magistrates’ Courts, his facing allegations of raping a mentally-ill woman in a Blair toilet in Madziwa on Saturday.
The woman has hearing problems and cannot talk.
Sources close to investigations said Constable Misheck Mashoko (35) is currently assisting police with investigations.
“We arrested the cop and he is currently assisting us with investigations on that case,” the source confirmed.
Allegations are that Mashoko, after noticing that the victim was alone at home as others had gone to fetch water, lured the victim to a Blair toilet.
However, this was in the sight of a seven-year-old boy, who told the victim’s relatives on their return that Mashoko had taken her to the Blair toilet.
They followed to the Blair toilet and found Mashoko in the act of raping the woman.
A police report was filed at Madziwa Police Station under RRB number 525570.
