Two people who assaulted and robbed a complainant in the Harare Central Business District has been ordered to appear tomorrow for bail application.
Panashe Nyamurowa and Nyasha Majoni, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing robbery allegations.
The State, through prosecutor Zebediah Bofu, alleges that on July 16, 2023, at around 1500 hours at Corner 6th Street and Kwame Nkrumah, Nyamurowa and Majoni, who were with other three accused persons only identified as Milton and Fantan, who are still at large, approached Ngonidzaishe Sibanda, who was walking along Nkwame Nkrumah towards 6th Street and they immediately started assaulting him using clenched fists.
They allegedly assaulted him using a wooden stick and a broken brick all over his body.
They assaulted him in order to make him surrender hid belingings.
Sibanda had a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Huawei Cam T100, a power bank, headphones and US$40 cash.
Nyamurowa and Majoni went away and Sibanda filed a police report at Fife Avenue Police Station.
The scene was attended and the phones were recovered from the accused persons.
As a result, the value of US$425 was stolen and US$385 has been recovered.
Chibanda postponed the bail application for the two to tomorrow.
