A man, who allegedly assaulted complainant in his shop, leaving him with a fractured leg, has appeared in court.
Prosper Mudzingwa, 45, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi accused of assault.
The complainant in this matter is Reason Midiya, 41, of Hatcliffe Extension.
The State alleges that on June 26, 2023, at around 1900 hours, at Pamatombo in Hatcliffe Extension, Midiya was now closing his hardware shop and was surprised that his door was not closing as there was someone who was pushing it from outside.
He was overpowered and the door was opened, hitting him and he fell on a compressor.
Mudzingwa allegedly entered the hardware shop with two other accomplices, one is still at large and the other who has been remanded out of custody.
The trio allegedly started kicking Mudiya blaming him over an affair.
Midiya managed to run out of the hardware.
At a distance of about five metres from the hardware, Midiya allegedly saw Mudzingwa picking up a stone which was on the road and threw it towards him and it hit him on the left knee.
Midiya then fell to the ground and discovered that he had sustained a fractured leg and was bleeding profusely.
He called his neighbour who then made a report and ferried Midiya to Parirenyatwa Hospital where he was admitted for two months.
After being discharged, Midiya led to the arrest of Mudzingwa whom he identified when the crime was committed.
Mudzingwa was ordered to appear in court on October 16.
