A Ruwa man who assaulted another to death, alleging that his wife had bumped into a parked car, has appeared before magistrate Munashe Chibanda facing a murder charge.
Calisto Muravo, 44, of Springvale Park, Ruwa appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with murder.
The State, through prosecutor Zebediah Bofu alleges that, on June 24, 2023, at Afro 161 Restaurant and Night Club located at number 161 Sam Nujoma Street Extension, Belgravia, Muravo, went to the now-deceased and his wife, Zinzi Musonza in the car park and alleged that the deceased’s wife had bumped into another parked car.
The deceased then came out of his car to check where the dent was.
While he was in the process of doing that, Muravo then punched the deceased on the mouth with his hand which had a knuckle dust and he fell.
Muravo started to kick the deceased on the head and neck.
He then went on to stamp on the deceased’s neck.
Muravo stopped assaulting the now-deceased briefly and walked away but he then returned and said he was not going to leave the deceased and kicked him for the last time on the head.
The now-deceased was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Chibanda ordered Muravo to appear in court on July 12 and was advised to apply for bail at the High Court because of the magnitude of his crime.
