Accomplices of the infamous socialite-turned-fugitive, Andy Baleni, widely recognized as Mambo Ndini have been apprehended, police have confirmed.
Last month, Mambo Ndini cleverly evaded capture after deceiving unsuspecting individuals in a cunning scam that netted him a staggering $300,000.
He and his partners in crime craftily swindled over 70 individuals, operating a fraudulent cement scheme under the guise of their company, Koffie and King Hardware. Their operation was located at 10 Mbuya Nehanda Street in Harare.
Mambo Ndini’s company advertised heavily on social media and local radio stations, enticing people with special offers on cement. As a result, numerous individuals responded and paid varying amounts with the expectation of receiving their cement after a week.
However, these victims were ultimately duped by Mambo Ndini and his collaborators, who promptly vanished into thin air.
Police have been able to arrest two of Baleni’s partners in crime: Tinashe Zimunya, 27, and Mary Zimunya, 62. Detectives from the CID Commercial Crimes Division acted upon a tip-off, leading to their capture on Wednesday.
