Accused serial murderer, Jaison Muvevi is set to undergo examination by two psychiatrists to assess his fitness to stand trial.
Through his lawyer Muvevi pleaded insanity in virtual court before a Harare magistrate this Wednesday.
The lawyer said Muvevi was incoherent and exhibited some mental problems during their engagements.
The presiding magistrate granted the application and ordered Muvevi to appear on June 9 for routine remand.
Muvevi stands accused of shooting and killing four people including a senior police officer as well as shooting and seriously injuring two others.
If the psychiatric evaluation deems him mentally competent, Muvevi’s trial is likely to kick off in June.
