A woman has taken her husband to court for allegedly causing trauma to their child by telling her that he wanted to end his life.
Loveness Chadokupa took Edmore Chadokupa to the Harare Civil Court, accusing him of telling their child worst things about her.
“He is my husband. I was once called to the child’s school and l was told that the child was always crying at school.
“The child told me that she was worried because the father had told her that he wanted to kill himself.
“She also told me that her father told her that l wanted to bewitch him,” she said.
Loveness also told the court that her husband was in the habit of telling the child that my brother, who is in intelligence, wanted him to disappear.
“He told our child that my brother was going to make him disappear,” she said.
She told the court that the disappearance allegations were all lies as her brother only called him for them to have a conversation amicably, but he took it the wrong way.
She said that her shaky relationship with Edmore, saying it was an on and off relationship.
“We sleep in different rooms. Sometimes we get back together,” she said.
Edmore vehemently rebutted Loveness’s claims, saying he never uttered what his wife alleged he said to the child.
“She is the one who actually abuses the children,” he said.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi, who presided over the matter ordered Edmore not to insult, harass or assault the child. She advised them to leave children out of their marital issues.
