Henry Mugove Muringani, a law officer who facilitated the release of four inmates facing serious offences through preparing bails on their behalf has been jailed for 12 years.
He was sentenced to serve five years for each count for criminal abuse of office as a public officer.
However, Harare Regional Magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa suspended eight years of the whole jail term for five years on condition that Muringani will not be convicted of any offence involving dishonesty.
He was left with 12 years.
