A Nyanga traditional healer, Sekuru Shingirai Mukotsanjera, led a team in retrieving the private parts, eyes and tongue belonging to the late Tukai Kujeke who was reportedly murdered for ritual purposes.

Kujeke was allegedly murdered in 1982 by Oneday Manyarara and James Dangarembwa, who are both now late and whose families appeased Kujeke’s avenging spirit with seven head of cattle each.

He had been buried without the parts.

Hundreds of villagers from Maondo Village and other neighbouring villages under Chief Mutasa came to witness the bizarre retrieval of the parts, which were reportedly found in a small calabash, about two metres deep just outside the Dangarembwa shop at Maondo Business Centre.

The parts were taken and placed in Kujeke’s grave to rest with the rest of the body.

The shop was reportedly being haunted by Kujeke’s spirit and had been unused for years.
