Two men including one only identified as Madzibaba are on the run after they ganged up with two more accomplices to murder the driver of a vehicle they had hired.

The reportedly killed the driver by stabbing him then pushing him out of the moving vehicle.

The gruesome detail came out when the State, represented by Zebediah Bofu laid out its case against Azion Kosiwe and Cephas Rice when they appeared at the Harare Magistrates ' Court accused of murder.

Bofu alleged that on February 27,  2023 at around 2200 hours Kosiwe and Rice together with their accomplices, Finity Rice and another only identified Madzibaba who are still at large, hired the now deceased Josphat Ruzvidzo along Charter Road, Harare CBD to ferry them to Uplands, Waterfalls, Harare.

Ruzvidzo was driving a silver Toyota Wish he used as a taxi from town to Waterfalls.

When they reached Msasa area in Waterfalls, the gang pounced on Ruzvidzo who got two knife stabs on the head.

They went on to remove the front passenger seat belts and tied Ruzvidzo’s legs as well as his hands at the back.

They stole Ruzvidzo's two phones, HP laptop and unknown amount of cash thus the total value is yet to be ascertained.

They drove away and pushed Ruzvidzo out from the moving car at an unnamed road behind Zim-Meal off Simon Mazorodze Road, Harare.

Ruzvidzo sustained serious injuries which resulted in his death.

The gang dumped the car along Bulawayo Road near Kuwadzana Roundabout.

Investigations led to the arrest of Kosiwe who then lured Rice to meet him at his house leading to the latter’s arrest.

On March 9, 2023 the two revealed under camera on how they committed the offence and implicated the other Rice and Madzibaba as accomplices.

Magistrate Dennis Mangosi advised the pair to approach the High Court for bail and remanded them for routine appearance on March 24, 2023.
