The Mighty Warriors have endured a difficult period, but their 7-0 home defeat to Malawi in the Women's Olympic qualifiers marked a new low for the team.
The heavy loss, suffered in their first match at the National Sports Stadium since the return of football to the venue, compounded Zimbabwe's struggles after they had lost the first leg 2-0, resulting in a humiliating 9-0 aggregate defeat.
Despite the disappointing results, head coach Stella Gotal insists she remains the right person to lead the team, expressing confidence in her ability to identify and develop players capable of representing Zimbabwe.
"I believe that I am the right person to lead the team because I think that I can identify, I can scout the players who will represent Zimbabwe. I'm still very confident, I'm still very motivated, I'm still excited about that project," she said.

Gotal's confidence comes at a challenging time for the Mighty Warriors, who must address their shortcomings and improve their performances following the heavy defeats.
The coach, who has been in charge of the team for approximately a month, argued that it was too early to judge her performance, given the limited time she has had to work with the players.
"I only live here maybe even a month. So my job just started, and I can say that I'm the right person to do that job. And now I'm even more motivated after that defeat," she said.
Gotal said she was determined to prove her capabilities by delivering better results for the team and the country.
"I want to prove that I'm capable of achieving good results for the team and country," she added.
