
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has offered his condolences to the Chivayo family following the death of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, whom he had met the previous day after Cabinet meeting proceedings.
Chivayo, who died following a helicopter crash in Marondera, together with his wife and four other crew members, is said to have met with the president on Tuesday after the conclusion of the day's Cabinet meeting.
The president, in his condolence message on Thursday, confirmed the meeting to have taken place, noting that Chivayo had shared with him his grand plans for war veterans and the poor.

"I am personally aware of numerous plans he had for our Nation and our people, principally the less privileged ones and our war veterans, whose social condition he diligently worked to ameliorate," Mnangagwa said.
"He shared with me some of these grand plans only this last Tuesday after out Cabinet meeting, just a day before his tragic end."
