Bulawayo Trio Jailed 15 Years Each for Kidnapping

 

Three Bulawayo men were each sentenced to an effective 15 years in prison this week after being convicted of kidnapping and assaulting a Ntabazinduna man whom they accused of knowing a suspected robber.

Sakhile Ndhlovu, 43, Twoboy Tshuma, 30, and Decent Ncube, 28, appeared before the Bulawayo Regional Court facing charges of kidnapping and assault.

The court heard that on June 22, 2026, the trio armed themselves with axes and knobkerries before going to King Masuku’s homestead in Ntabazinduna, where the complainant was staying.

The three forcibly seized the victim and bundled him into their vehicle.

They accused him of knowing a man they suspected of plotting to rob their shop.

The court heard that the trio detained the victim throughout the night and repeatedly assaulted him while demanding the identity of the alleged conspirator.

At around 5am the following day, they lreleased the victim and dropped him off at his home.

The matter was reported to the police, who recorded statements from the complainant and obtained a medical report documenting his injuries.

The evidence led to the arrest of the three men, who were subsequently convicted and sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment each.
