Highlanders Football Club has been plunged into mourning once again following the death of its finance officer, Sihlalisiwe Mnkandla, in a fresh tragedy that has deepened the club’s grief.
The sad news was confirmed on Monday morning by Highlanders board member Elkanah Dube, who said he had just been informed of Mnkandla’s passing by a member of staff.
“I have just received this sad news from one of our employees. I don’t have full details yet, but I am rushing to the office now, where I am sure I will be able to get the full details. Surely this is heart-wrenching for the entire Highlanders family,” said Dube.
Mnkandla’s death comes barely a week after the Bulawayo giants lost key members of their leadership in a fatal road traffic accident that shocked the football fraternity and the nation at large.

As condolences continue to pour in, Highlanders now face the difficult task of mourning another valued member of the Bosso family while still reeling from the devastating losses suffered just days earlier.
Club officials are expected to provide further details regarding Mnkandla’s death and funeral arrangements once the family has been informed and all the necessary processes have been completed.
