Scottland Set to Host CAF Champions League Tie in Botswana

Reigning Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League champions Scottland are expected to host their upcoming CAF Champions League fixture against Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana, this September.

The move comes as Zimbabwe continues to lack a stadium suitable for international and intercontinental matches, forcing local clubs to look outside the nation's borders for home venues.

Negotiations to secure the Francistown facility are reportedly near completion.

“Discussions are already in place and confirmation is expected by the end of this week,” a source close to the developments revealed.

This will not be the first time a Zimbabwean side has used the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium for continental duties. Last year, Simba Bhora adopted the same venue for their CAF Champions League clash against Nsingizini Hotspurs, securing a 1-0 win in the home leg before ultimately being eliminated in Eswatini.
