The Chevrons suffered another disappointing defeat after going down by 90 runs to India in the second T20 International at Harare Sports Club on Saturday, handing the visitors an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The hosts had hoped to level the series after winning the toss and electing to bowl, but India's batters produced another dominant display to post a daunting 219 for five from their 20 overs.
Ishan Kishan led the charge with 81 off 44 deliveries, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 60 from just 29 balls as Zimbabwe's bowlers struggled to contain the visitors. Despite wickets from Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Brian Bennett, Newman Nyamhuri and Brad Evans, the Chevrons failed to slow India's relentless scoring.
Chasing a challenging target of 220, Zimbabwe started positively, with Brian Bennett taking the attack to the Indian bowlers. Bennett struck 32 off just 19 balls, but his dismissal triggered another batting collapse.

No Zimbabwe batter managed to convert a promising start into a match-changing innings. Tadiwanashe Marumani scored 24, Ryan Burl added 20 and Richard Ngarava made 19, but the rest of the batting line-up struggled against India's disciplined bowling attack.
Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 129 in 17.5 overs, falling well short of the target and suffering their second successive defeat of the series.
Abhishek Sharma starred with the ball for India, claiming three wickets for 17 runs, while Prince Yadav and Yash Thakur picked up two wickets apiece to ensure the visitors sealed the series with a game to spare.
The defeat leaves the Chevrons playing for pride in Sunday's final T20 International, where they will be aiming to avoid a 3-0 series whitewash in front of their home supporters at Harare Sports Club.
