
A Chitungwiza man is facing allegations of stealing footwear and other merchandise worth more than US$12,600 from a Bata Shoe Company branch where he was responsible for stock management.
Admire Moyo, 43, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court on charges of theft of trust property following the discovery of missing stock at Bata's Makoni branch.
According to the State, Moyo was entrusted with stock at the branch between March and June this year.

A stock verification exercise conducted by company officials allegedly revealed shortages of footwear and non-footwear items valued at US$12,624.70.
Prosecutors allege that Moyo failed to account for the missing merchandise when questioned.
The State further alleges that the stock was removed from the branch and taken to an unknown location.
No property has been recovered and the company is said to have suffered a loss of US$12,624.70.
The matter was postponed to July 3, 2026.
