A sudden recent spike in leaked and staged audios by alleged public figures has triggered concern within government and political circles following the recent leak of an audio conversation allegedly between Apostl Batsirai Java and an unknown person in what has has since been regarded as fake and staged audio recordings .
Batsirai Java was married to the daughter of the the late opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, the Late Vimbai Tsvangirai nee Java
In the audio , the alleged Batsirai Java is heard claiming that there was a plot to unsit President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Constatino Chiwenga by businessman and Zanu PF Central Commitee member Kudakwashe Tagwirei.
In the audio, the alleged Batsirai Java claims that he got the intelligence from his young brother and socialite Prophet Passion Java who of late has been seen in the country multiple times.
However Passion Java who is based in the United States publicly denounced the circulating audio recording.
“I am not aware of the audio circulating on social media and Apostle Java is my brother but i was not involved in the generation of this audio,” he rebuted the video from his base in the United States.
This comes amid claims from senior security sources that there is well orchestrated plot to implicate senior political figures in an alleged plan to unseat President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, with mounting allegations—circulating among government and ZANU-PF-linked voices—that adversaries are seeking to manufacture divisions inside the country’s top leadership.
In statements described by multiple sources as a direct response to the “viral” audio widely shared on social media Passion Java said the recording is misleading, politically motivated, and part of a wider campaign to sow confusion in government ranks.
According to the claims now spreading in different versions across political networks, the circulating audio contains what supporters of the recording allege are incriminating remarks made by a clerical figure tied to Passion Java’s family.

The audio contains references to a supposed plot involving Kudakwashe Tagwirei, and that the plot is aimed at removing both President Mnangagwa and Vice President Chiwenga from power.
Passion Java’s denouncement all these assertions citing that people were now abusing technology to sow divisions in the party and government.
Instead, he positioned the recording as an attempt to weaponize family-linked association for political damage—particularly at a time when ZANU-PF structures are said to be on heightened alert over internal cohesion.
The exact origin of the audio has not been verified while various senior government sources and ZANU-PF sources say the leak of such unverified audios fits a pattern of politically driven information operations—especially those that target trust within the Presidium, the nucleus of top leadership.
Multiple officials reportedly argue that the bigger objective is to destabilize the internal balance of power at the top.
This also follows social media claims that senior party leaderships did not attend the wedding of Tagwireyi’s son as a form of boycott which also cannot be verified by facts. President Mnangagwa attended the wedding.
Sources said the plot largely fuelled by social media speculation is not limited to specific individuals but is designed to trigger factional suspicion—forcing senior leaders to question one another’s loyalty, intentions, and alliances.
Since the recent appointment of Tagwirei into the Zanu PF Central Commitee, his brand has been under massive attack with various allegations being raised that he was eyeing the top office of the land.
Tagwirei on various public platforms has denied any ambitions.
Senior government officials are now worried at the rate at which people are now abusing technology to demonise senior public figures.
