Prosecutor Lawrence Gangarahwe alleged that Nzengate, acting in connivance with unidentified accomplices, broke into the victim’s residence on February 17, 2026, stabbed her in the chest and stole valuables including a Samsung A04 smartphone, a Huawei Mate 40 Pro and US$1,530 in cash.

The victim’s body was discovered by her 17-year-old relative, Tinevimbo Blessing Gondongwe, who found the house ransacked and the deceased lying in a spare bedroom.

Police were alerted, triggering investigations that led to Nzengate’s arrest on March 26, 2026, after he allegedly attempted to sell the stolen Huawei device.

Nzengate remains in custody, with his lawyer, Owen Safuri, indicating that an application for bail will be filed at the High Court.
