The Central Region Soccer League has received a major boost after securing a US$16,000 sponsorship for a new cup competition from Kwekwe-based companies GMI and Dream Inn, both owned by Shepherd Chahwanda, the president of Hardrock.

The sponsorship was announced by Hardrock chairman Wellington Mpandare during the CRSL Annual General Meeting held in Zvishavane.
Speaking at the meeting, Mpandare said: “Mr Chahwanda has decided to sponsor the Central Region Soccer League in the form of a cup tournament.”
He added that the sponsorship is expected to strengthen competition in the region and provide much-needed financial support to clubs participating in the tournament.
