CBZ Holdings Appoints Two New Board Directors

CBZ Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of two seasoned professionals, Mr Takudzwa Donald Mudzengerere and Mr Pfungwa Gore Serima, to its board of directors, as the financial services group continues to bolster its leadership with expertise drawn from across the region.

The appointments were confirmed through separate board notices issued on November 17, 2025.

Mudzengerere, who joins the board with effect from 6 May 2025, is a distinguished investment executive with more than 17 years’ experience spanning corporate finance, private equity and financial strategy. 

He is the co-founder and director of Athari Capital Partners, a corporate finance advisory firm that has spearheaded high-impact transactions across sub-Saharan Africa. He also chairs Origen Contracting, a mining and civil engineering contracting company.

Before co-founding Athari Capital Partners, Mudzengerere held senior roles at EY, EOH Holdings and AB InBev, where he played a key role in market transactions and corporate strategy. He holds a BCom (Hons) in Accounting Science, is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA Charterholder.

He is also an active member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the CFA Institute.

Serima joins the board earlier, with his appointment effective 22 April 2025. 

A technology executive with over 36 years of experience across Africa and the Middle East, Serima is recognised for leading large-scale digital transformation and regional expansion strategies. His career includes executive positions at Microsoft, Accenture, SAP and Metrofile.

He previously served as Group CEO of Metrofile Holdings from 2016 to 2025, where he oversaw the company’s evolution from a physical data storage provider into a digital services leader. 

Serima also held senior roles in Accenture’s technology divisions and began his career in Zimbabwe as a CIO within both private and public sector organisations.

He holds a degree in Business Studies and Computing Science from the University of Zimbabwe and has previously served on the boards of WesBank (FirstRand Group, South Africa) and the German Chamber of Commerce. 

He currently sits on the board of Hippo Valley Estate Limited as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

In statements accompanying the announcements, the CBZ Holdings Board, Management and Staff extended their congratulations to both appointees and wished them success in their new roles.
