The week-long refresher course is exclusively for current holders of the CAF B Licence and provides a platform for coaches to refresh their knowledge in line with the latest CAF guidelines. The curriculum combines both theoretical and practical sessions, designed to help experienced coaches reconnect with modern tactical, technical, and player development approaches.

The course is being facilitated by ZIFA Head of Technical, Dominique Niyonzima, and also serves as a mentoring and assessment opportunity for coach educators Wilson Mutekede, Tafadzwa Mashiri, Sithethelelwe Sibanda, and Dr. Joseph Sibindi, who are participating as part of their own professional development.

The opening ceremony took place on Monday at the ZIFA Village in Mt Hampden, marking the start of an intensive week of learning and collaboration. Practical and classroom sessions will continue throughout the week at various venues, with final assessments and a closing session scheduled for Friday.

Speaking at the launch, ZIFA Head of Technical, Dominique Niyonzima, stressed the importance of continuous learning for coaches. “Football is constantly evolving, and as coaches, we must evolve with it. This refresher course gives our coaches the opportunity to realign with new developments in the game, exchange ideas, and continue learning. By ensuring that even those who trained in the past are updated and equipped with the latest knowledge, we are strengthening the overall quality of coaching in Zimbabwe and preparing our coaches to contribute effectively to player and team development,” he said.
