In a statement issued on Monday evening, Muswere emphasised that while freedom of expression remains protected, it must be exercised within the confines of the law.
“We urge all Zimbabweans to use social media responsibly,” said Muswere.

He cautioned that the government is closely monitoring online platforms and reminded users that spreading false or harmful information can attract serious penalties under the Cyber and Data Protection Act and the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

Muswere’s remarks come amid growing concern over the misuse of digital platforms, with authorities urging citizens to prioritise accuracy and responsibility in their online engagements.
