Mudenda Appointed ZANU PF Secretary General in Politburo Reshuffle

Speaker of the National Assembly, Jacob Francis Nzwidamilero Mudenda, has been appointed Secretary General of ZANU PF in a major Politburo reshuffle announced on 23 September 2025.

The changes, confirmed in a statement signed by party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa, were made under Article 8, Section 47 of the party’s constitution. 

President Emmerson Mnangagwa exercised his mandate to reorganise the party’s top leadership structure.

Other key appointments include Patrick Chinamasa moving from Secretary for Legal Affairs to Treasurer General, Obert Mpofu shifting from Secretary General to Secretary for Information Communication, and Ziyambi Ziyambi taking over as Secretary for Legal Affairs.
