A 29-year-old Norton man, Pardon Jena, has been arrested after allegedly killing and mutilating another man during a violent dispute near a garage in the town.
The incident happened in the early hours of August 25, 2025, when Jena and the now-deceased, Patrice Tinashe Chipaumire, left Seaways Bar in Norton together, reportedly heading home.
On the way, the two got into an argument near Kufa Garage.
Investigators say Jena stabbed Chipaumire once in the neck, causing him to collapse.
He then allegedly mutilated Chipaumire’s private parts and face before fleeing.
At around 6 a.m., a passerby discovered Chipaumire’s body lying near the scene with a deep neck wound, missing private parts, and facial injuries. Police were immediately called.
Jena was tracked down later that evening near Petrotrade Garage in Katanga, Norton, and taken into custody.
