Members of Parliament have commended the use of the Constituency Development Fund in Epworth South and Epworth North, noting visible benefits for residents.

In Epworth South, MP Taedzwa Mutana has drilled five boreholes to address a long-standing water shortage, providing clean and safe water to the community.

“The CDF has brought significant relief to our community,” said Mutana. “The boreholes have transformed the lives of our residents, reducing the time spent searching for water and improving hygiene.”

Residents expressed joy over the initiative, praising the boreholes for improving daily life by reducing reliance on unsafe water sources and strengthening household health.

In Epworth North, MP Zivai Mhetu highlighted infrastructure projects funded through the CDF, including the rehabilitation of a key road that had been in disrepair for years. The upgrade has improved accessibility for residents and boosted local business activity.

“The CDF is a game-changer for our constituency,” said Mhetu. “It allows us to address urgent challenges and bring development to our people.”

Lawmakers stressed that the CDF empowers communities by enhancing service delivery, promoting inclusive development, and fostering stronger ties between citizens and their representatives.

“The CDF is a critical tool for ensuring that development is tailored to the needs of our communities,” said one Parliamentarian.

“It promotes accountability, transparency, and trust between citizens and their representatives.”

The parliamentary oversight visit was aimed at ensuring accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.

Legislators commended the implementation of projects in both constituencies, saying the initiatives demonstrate how the CDF can be used to deliver meaningful development.
