The Ministry of Industry and Commerce recently held a consultative meeting with the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Industry and Commerce to discuss the Draft Zimbabwe National Industrial Development Policy.
The policy seeks to revitalize the industrial sector and accelerate progress towards achieving national industrial goals.
"We are committed to ensuring that ZNIDP 2 is a robust and implementable policy framework that drives industrial growth and development," said Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu.
"This engagement with Parliament is crucial in refining the policy and ensuring it aligns with national economic priorities."
During the session, Minister Ndlovu presented an overview of the draft policy, emphasizing its role in driving industrial growth and development.
The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee provided valuable feedback and insights, highlighting the importance of Parliament’s role in shaping national policies.
The collaboration marks a critical step in refining ZNIDP 2 into a practical and transformative blueprint for Zimbabwe’s industrialization agenda. "This policy will play a key role in promoting growth, competitiveness, and sustainability in the economy," Minister Ndlovu added.
The Ministry has also been engaging stakeholders across provinces as part of the ongoing consultative process. Feedback from the Parliamentary Committee will contribute to refining the policy document, ultimately supporting the country’s economic growth and development.
