From the small city of Kwekwe in Zimbabwe to the bright lights of the UK modeling scene, Tafadzwa Marshal’s journey has been anything but ordinary.

A finalist in the upcoming Mr. Africa UK/Ireland 2025 competition, Tafadzwa is proving that modeling is more than appearances—it is a platform for purpose and change.

His modeling career began in South Africa, inspired by his love for fashion and design. But his path soon shifted in a profound way. After witnessing the struggles of abused women and youth, he realized the influence his voice could carry.

“I came to understand that modeling is not just about the clothes you wear or the runway you walk. It is about the message you carry and the people you represent,” he explained.

Now based in the UK, Tafadzwa has taken his advocacy to new heights. As a brand ambassador for Diaspora Insurance and in partnership with the charity Project Salama, he co-founded a weekly online initiative called Positive Masculinity. The Zoom-based platform provides a safe space for open conversation, giving people the chance to share their experiences and perspectives.

For Tafadzwa, the aim is clear: “I want to help break down the systemic barriers that stop people from being safe, educated, healthy, and economically independent.”

His voice is being heard. A recent interview with a Berkshire radio station brought attention to his work, shining a spotlight on his commitment to speaking out against the abuse of women and youth.

Tafadzwa’s vision is rooted in action rather than titles. As he prepares for the Mr. Africa UK/Ireland pageant on September 13, 2025, he remains grounded in his mission.

“With or without the crown, I will continue to pursue my purpose,” he said firmly. “This is bigger than a competition. It’s about bringing meaningful change to my community and beyond.”
