The Zimbabwe Council of Churches General Secretary, Rev. Wilfred Dimingu, opened the Fiscal Insights Forum 2025 with a message that framed fiscal policy as a matter of justice, stewardship, and human dignity rather than mere economic arithmetic.

Quoting John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full,” Rev. Dimingu urged stakeholders to see fiscal management as a pathway to abundant life for all Zimbabweans. He emphasized that stewardship of national resources, restoration through inclusive development, and integrity in public finance management were moral obligations as much as policy choices.

“The numbers in the national budget must translate into hope, livelihoods, and a future for every citizen,” he said, calling for collaboration between government, civil society, and faith-based institutions in shaping economic governance.

The Fiscal Insights Forum, hosted in partnership with Christian Aid Zimbabwe and ACT Alliance, is designed to create dialogue on public finance reforms and ensure that policies respond to the needs of ordinary people.
