Set against Harare’s skyline, the iconic Rainbow Towers Hotel has long stood as a beacon of elegance, diplomacy, and distinction.
Now, following a US$5.2 million transformation, this five-star property — together with the adjacent Harare International Conference Centre — has been reimagined to deliver world-class conferences and luxurious hospitality.
The refurbishment forms part of the Rainbow Tourism group’s wider US$26 million five-year investment strategy, a bold repositioning that seeks to place Zimbabwe firmly on the global map as a premier destination for international meetings and elite travel experiences.
Where Luxury Meets Modern Living
Step inside the renewed Rainbow Towers Hotel and a new chapter of sophistication unfolds. Three fully refurbished floors now feature six opulent suites, created by merging four standard rooms into expansive sanctuaries.
Each suite includes two en-suite bedrooms, a plush lounge, private dining space, sleek kitchenette, and guest bathroom — crafted for the discerning traveler who values both luxury and comfort.
Forty-eight additional guest rooms have also been redesigned with a bold minimalist aesthetic.
With sustainable finishes, spa-inspired bathrooms, rain showers, ambient downlighting, and polished flooring, these rooms balance elegance with functionality, offering the perfect retreat for relaxation and productivity.
HICC: Africa’s Colosseum Reimagined
The Harare International Conference Centre, Africa’s largest colosseum-style venue, has undergone its first major upgrade since inception.
With a 4,500-seat capacity, the HICC now boasts ergonomic seating with integrated charging stations and writing pads, enhanced acoustics, and plush carpeting — lifting it to international standards and redefining Zimbabwe’s conference landscape.
Precision, Prestige, and Diplomacy
The refurbished hotel recently hosted ten Heads of State during the August 2025 Southern African Development Community Summit, delivering not just hospitality, but a tailored diplomatic experience.
Convenience has also been enhanced with the installation of two new Kone guest elevators — now four in total — offering secure, key-card access. Two additional service elevators streamline operations in both the kitchen and HICC, ensuring seamless behind-the-scenes efficiency.
A Future of Excellence
“The refashioning of the Rainbow Towers Hotel & Conference Centre has breathed new life into the hotel,” said RTG Chief Executive Tendai Madziwanyika. “It offers timeless comfort with a modern twist.
We are optimistic about our current business performance and the future, positioning Zimbabwe as a premier destination for regional and international meetings and conferences.”
With its sweeping transformation, the Rainbow Towers Hotel & HICC has transcended its status as a landmark to become a statement of Zimbabwean excellence.
Whether for global summits, milestone celebrations, or a single night of indulgence, every detail has been crafted to deliver an unforgettable guest experience.
