In a major move ahead of the 2025–2026 MLS NEXT season, FC Hudson Valley has announced the appointment of US-based Zimbabwean coach Samkeliso Paradzai Ncube as the club’s new head coach.

Ncube, affectionately known in football circles as “YoungPep,” joins the rapidly rising youth club following a successful tenure at North Star Naturals, where he earned praise for his tactical acumen and talent-development prowess.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Ncube to FC Hudson Valley,” said Club President George Gjokaj. “His international perspective, dedication to player development, and leadership qualities align perfectly with the future we’re building here.”

For Ncube, this new role represents both a professional leap and a personal milestone. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, he has steadily progressed through the coaching ranks in the United States, gaining a strong reputation for his football intelligence, humility, and commitment to nurturing young talent.

In an interview with Zim Now, Ncube shared his excitement about the new chapter:

“I’m truly honored and excited to join FC Hudson Valley MLS NEXT as head coach. This is an incredible opportunity to work with a club that shares my passion for developing players and competing at the highest level.

Leaving North Star Naturals was not an easy decision—it’s a place where I built great memories, lasting relationships, and saw tremendous growth in the players. I’m deeply grateful to the players, families, and staff who trusted me and supported me throughout my time there.

Now, I look forward to bringing that same commitment, energy, and vision to FC Hudson Valley. Together, we will focus on developing talent, building a strong team culture, and playing with purpose every time we step on the field.”

Known for his high-pressing style and meticulous attention to detail, Ncube brings renewed energy and vision to the Hudson Valley setup. Sources close to the club reveal he has already begun identifying standout talents within the ranks and is planning summer development camps alongside a revamped training structure.

Back in Zimbabwe, his ascent is being celebrated by coaches and players alike. “YoungPep’s success shows that Zimbabwean coaches can thrive on major platforms,” said a former mentor from Harare.

With FC Hudson Valley targeting a strong push in the upcoming MLS NEXT campaign, Ncube’s arrival signals a bold new chapter for the club.

“The Valley has a new leader,” read one of the banners at his unveiling. And by all accounts, he’s only just getting started.
