A high powered delegation of 11 Russian officials arrived in Harare this week  for an official meeting with the Zimbabwean Minister of Finance Mthuli Ncube.

This visit follows Minister Mthuli’s recent trip to Russia, where he met with his Russian counterpart in Moscow.

The primary purpose of this follow-up meeting was to enhance cooperation and discuss financial support from Russia to Zimbabwe.

The Russian delegation included representatives from some of the largest banks in Russia, emphasizing the intention to foster financial partnerships.

Discussions centered on potential investments and support in various sectors of Zimbabwe’s economy.

This is despite slanderous allegations raised by unscrupulous media publications that the Russian delegation was a team of hit man targeting the assasination of high profile politicians in Zimbabwe.

The publications alleged  that Mr Oleg Vodchits and prominent businessman Alexandr Zingman were the key mastermind of the alleged treasonous visit.

“Contrary to claims made by some unscrupulous media outlets, I and Alexandra Zingman, were not part of the Russian delegation. I arrived in Zimbabwe later for separate business purposes under our  company, Aftrade DMCC, which specializes in agricultural mechanization,” Mr Vodchits said.

Mr Zingman, on the other hand, is currently on vacation with his family and he is as never part of the delegation. Allegations suggesting his involvement in dubious deals are unfounded, as he is dedicated Consul working on attracting legitimate investors to Zimbabwe. His business endeavors are well-known and focused on fostering economic growth within the country,” he added.

He further noted that recent rumors claiming that Alex Zingman faced legal issues in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are entirely false.

“The investigation he underwent was merely a routine personality check, and he was released without any charges. There is no evidence to support the baseless claims of his involvement in arms trafficking, which have been dismissed as complete nonsense.”

Aftrade DMCC, a company owned by Mr Zingman has played a significant role in advancing the agricultural sector in Zimbabwe, working to improve efficiency and productivity.

The recent meeting between the Russian delegation and the Zimbabwean Minister of Finance marks a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations

. As both countries seek to collaborate on financial and agricultural initiatives, it is essential to focus on the positive developments and dismiss any unfounded allegations that may arise.

The commitment to fostering economic growth and partnership remains a priority for both nations.
