In a major boost to Zimbabwe’s digital skills development, Ghanaian tech education powerhouse Rise In Tech Africa has partnered with OmniContact BPO Services, a subsidiary of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, to train more than 15,000 Zimbabwean staff in cutting-edge technology disciplines.
The strategic alliance brings together RITA Africa’s world-class tech education programmes and OmniContact’s expansive workforce, as well as its deep footprint in Zimbabwe’s telecommunications landscape.
“We are not just training people; we are building a future where African youth are creators of technology, not just consumers,” said Darlington Yeboah Faddams, CEO and Director of Academy at RITA Africa.
RITA Africa’s programmes will cover a comprehensive range of in-demand skills including:
These globally recognised certifications aim to close the digital skills gap and position African talent as global contributors to innovation and economic transformation.
“This partnership is a defining moment,” Faddams added. “As Africa emerges as a force in global technology, this collaboration promises to redefine the continent’s tech narrative—one learner at a time.”
OmniContact, the outreach and distribution partner in this alliance, will tap into its networks within Econet Wireless, Zimbabwe’s largest telecoms provider, to scale access to the training initiative across its workforce and beyond.
“Partnering with RITA Africa brings our mandate to create meaningful opportunities to life. This will have a lasting impact on lives and livelihoods,” said Otis Tawanda Makahamadze, COO of OmniContact BPO Services.
To date, RITA Africa has delivered tech education services in over 25 African countries, becoming a sought-after partner for capacity-building initiatives across the continent.
The newly launched Zimbabwean partnership reflects the growing shift toward African-led, African-scaled solutions to the digital skills crisis—empowering young people not only to participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution but to lead it.
