Adomsi Mukwasi Makosi, the passionate president of the Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association (ZSSA), has become a familiar face at football matches across the country. Whether it’s a junior league game or a senior national team showdown—men’s or women’s—Makosi is always present, rallying support and waving the flag of Zimbabwean football.
“The Association was formed in the 90s with the aim of giving moral support to the senior men’s national football team during the time of Peter Ndlovu, Adam Ndlovu and other legendary players,” said Makosi. His love for the game goes back decades, rooted in a deep admiration for Zimbabwe’s golden generation of footballers.
Today, the ZSSA operates nationwide with regional leadership structures to ensure its presence at matches throughout the country. Despite financial challenges, the association strives to be present at every game. “We are trying, but sometimes we are facing some financial challenges,” Makosi explained. “We are asking for some companies and organizations for sponsorship.”
Makosi emphasized the importance of planning and coordination with national football authorities. “We are working closely with ZIFA so that we are always up to date with all matches, so that we can plan on time.”
Outside the stadium, Makosi is a devoted family man and a committed Christian. “When I’m not in the field, I’ll be at church with my family,” he said. He is a proud father of four boys, all of whom are showing exceptional talent in sports. “I always sponsor my boys in everything that they want in sport. I even hire personal coaches for them,” Makosi stated.
His eldest son, Adam, has particularly stood out. “Adam will be in the premier league in the coming season,” he proudly announced. “He is a multiple award winner with a lot of medals and trophies.” Another of his sons is making strides in cricket, showing the family’s broad sporting passion.
A loyal supporter of Dynamos FC, Makosi also extends a warm invitation to football fans across Zimbabwe. “I encourage other supporters who wish to join the association to come and join so that we can rally behind the national team on time.”
Through unwavering dedication, family support, and a deep-rooted love for the game, Adomsi Mukwasi Makosi continues to inspire football supporters and nurture the next generation of Zimbabwean sports talent.
