SCOTTLAND FC coach Tonderayi Ndiraya has cautioned his side against complacency as they gear up to face a struggling Dynamos in a highly anticipated Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matchday 10 encounter at Rufaro Stadium this Sunday.
Despite Dynamos' underwhelming start to the 2025 season, which has seen the Harare giants record only one victory in their opening nine fixtures and struggle for goals, Ndiraya, affectionately known as "Stanza," insists that the Glamour Boys cannot be underestimated.
Speaking after his team’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Herentals on Worker’s Day at the same venue, Ndiraya emphasized the historical significance and inherent threat that Dynamos still possess.
“Dynamos will always be Dynamos despite how and who will be playing there at that particular period,” Ndiraya stated. “We have to remain focused and be at our best if we are to grind the desired dent.”
He further elaborated on the need for his charges to approach the Sunday duel with the utmost respect. “The club remains big and their history speaks volumes of the magnitude of the club hence the need for us to keep our heads down. Look Dynamos managed to get a point from Greenfuel after the long journey and that means they are not as bad as people think,” he added, acknowledging Dynamos' resilience in their recent away draw.
Ndiraya also highlighted the significant role played by Dynamos’ passionate and large fan base, suggesting it could be a crucial factor in boosting the team's morale during this challenging period.
“Dynamos has a pool of supporters and that really is very important in boosting the team’s morale and confidence during match days. Look the twelfth man has always been an integral part in the football equation, so DeMbare can ride on that to post positive results,” the Scottland FC gaffer observed.
Scottland FC will head into the Sunday clash with renewed confidence following their slender victory over Herentals, a win that snapped a run of three consecutive draws. However, they will be acutely aware of the unpredictable nature of derby encounters and the potential for Dynamos to rise to the occasion despite their current form.
Despite the contrasting fortunes of the two sides so far this season, the fixture between Scottland FC and Dynamos remains a headline attraction on the local football calendar.
