A man from Kwekwe, Mthandazo Sibindi, 27, shot dead Trymore Sibanda, 26, on Monday last week after the now-deceased confronted him for having an extra-marital affair with his wife.
Sibindi has since been arrested and appeared before the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court charged with murder.
He was remanded in custody to 8 December, 2022 for trial.
Confirming the murder, police said in s statement: “Police in Kwekwe arrested Mthandazo Sibindi (26) in connection with a murder case in which he allegedly shot dead Trymore Sibanda (27) after the victim had confronted him of having an extra-marital affair with his wife on 21/02/22 at Simana Village, Silobela.
“The suspect has since appeared before Kwekwe Magistrate Court where he was remanded in custody to 08/12/22 for trial.”
In another case of a man attacking a rival for his wife's affections, the police are also looking for an assailant identified as Baba Joy who filmed his assault of man he was accusing of having an affair with his wife. The video has since gone viral.
Police have urged members of the public not to resort to illegal vengeance but to use legal routes for dispute resolutions and restitutions.
