As the Zimbabwean football community prepares for the January 25 elections, one man stands out as a beacon of hope for the sport's future. Kennedy Ndebele, a seasoned football administrator with 25 years of experience, has thrown his hat into the ring, vying for the ZIFA vice-presidency.
Ndebele's passion for football is contagious, and his vision for the sport's future is built around several key pillars. "We need to develop our infrastructure, promote grassroots and youth development, and improve our communications and marketing," he explained in an exclusive interview. "We must also ensure good governance, transparency, and accountability to restore the integrity of Zimbabwean football."
Ndebele's impressive credentials make him a strong candidate for the ZIFA vice-presidency. As a regional Fifa instructor and former Highlanders secretary and chairman, he possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of football administration. His experience as marketing director for the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Games and co-ordinator of the Cosafa 2009 tournament has also equipped him with the skills to promote Zimbabwean football on the international stage.
