Election watchdog and observer organisation Team Pachedu has reversed its support for Citizens’ Coalition for Change president Nelson Chamisa.
In a statement on X, Team Pachedu coordinator, Tafadzwa “Chambi” Sambiri, said that in 2018 he supported Chamisa’s rise to power in what he refers to as a coup with no congress.
He, however says he regrets his support and sees it as a blunder.
“Chamisa’s one centre of power is bad for the democracy I believe in,” Sambiri said in his post.
His revocation pf the Chamisa-led opposition party comes at a time when the political outfit is battling heavy factionalism with the top brass in fatal altercations online with some believed to be behind the interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu. There are some, however, who are Chamisa.
Efforts to get a comment from CCC National Deputy Spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba were futile as his mobile was not reachable.
Some X users have labelled Sambiri a sellout.
