Zanu PF recently announced that it will conduct its internal elections to select candidates who will represent the party in the forthcoming harmonised elections.

On Saturday, several candidates expressed their interest to represent the revolutionary party and they submitted their CVs at various party provincial offices.

The party saw several youth candidates expressing their interests.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa said on Thursday that preparations to hold primary elections should begin in earnest.

“More importantly, we must all gear ourselves to work with other structures in the ongoing mobilisation work towards our party’s thunderous victory in the upcoming 2023 Harmonised General Elections.

“The party manifesto must be finalised as the other critical aspects related to our internal election road map unfold. Equally, all provinces are directed to constitute themselves in readiness for responsive grassroots-based mobilisation campaigns ahead of the Harmonised General Elections.

“Provinces must further raise the requisite resources for campaigns at their level voter registration and grassroots-oriented mobilisation strategies centred at the cells and villages should continue. Nothing must be left to chance,” he said.

Zim Now also followed the submission of CVs at Zanu PF Harare Province offices.

One of the candidates, who spoke to Zim Now, Tumelo Zamanga, who wants to represent the party in Glen View North said he was charmed by the work which is being done by the Second Republic and he is not ashamed to be part of the winning team.

“I am charmed by the work which is being done by His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa so it is our duty as young people to also play our part where we can.

“The Second Republic is leaving no one and no place behind and as young people, we have been afforded a chance to represent and work with the ruling party. In my constituency, we have been doing several projects through the Tumelo Foundation in support of President’s Vision,” Zamanga said.
