Parliament has secured 300 VIP tickets for Members of Parliament ahead of the Warriors’ much-anticipated clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the National Sports Stadium, with the package including parking inside the stadium.
CAPS United president and Parliamentary Committee on Sports chairman Farai Jere said the tickets had been secured from the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and were being sold at Parliament as part of efforts to mobilise support for the national team.
“They've been given tickets here to buy at Parliament. And these tickets, they also include parking their vehicles right in the stadium. It's a real VIP for the honourable members,” Jere said.
The parliamentary initiative comes against a backdrop of strong demand for tickets, with ordinary tickets previously sold online already sold out, leaving physical tickets as the remaining option for supporters seeking entry.
Jere said Parliament’s involvement was also intended to provide practical support to ZIFA and the Warriors as they prepare for the high-profile encounter.

“We have requested ZIFA to give us about 300 tickets which are being sold here as we speak right now. It's our support because we are working with ZIFA,” he said.
He added that the support extended beyond Parliament, revealing that he had personally bought 20 VIP tickets for business clients.
“Even in my personal capacity, I bought so many tickets to distribute to our customers. I bought about 20 tickets, the VIP tickets, to distribute to our customers, to our clients from business side,” Jere said.
The availability of the parliamentary ticket allocation comes as interest in the match continues to build, with the sell-out of online ordinary tickets indicating strong demand for the Warriors’ fixture.
Jere said he was satisfied with the current working relationship between Parliament and the football authorities.
“So it's going to be very exciting and we are very happy with the approach which is being exhibited by the current ZIFA board and we are supporting them,” he said.
